Our Approach to Individualized Mental Health Care
Every man, woman, transgender, or non-binary identifying individual who walks through our doors is unique. That’s why, instead of a typical one-size-fits-all program, we at Wings Recovery have separate men’s and women’s programs to work with you to create an individualized mental health treatment plan to meet your needs and ensure you gain the tools you need to heal and move forward in your life.
A Team That Cares
Wings was founded by a psychologist and a marriage and family therapist, both bringing extensive expertise in the mental health treatment field. Through our years of experience helping patients through heart-wrenching issues to open up and heal, our staff understands first-hand the devastating effects that trauma and mental illness can have on individual lives and the lives of the people who love them.
All of our therapists have at minimum a master’s degree in a mental health field and are licensed or registered with the state of California. And, unlike many other programs, all of our therapists receive training in the special skills needed to effectively treat trauma and trauma-based disorders.
Individual Therapy
Our therapists are trained in multiple types of one-on-one therapy, including EMDR, IFS, and other trauma-focused approaches to help you heal and create the life you want.
Group Therapy
Your peers in recovery will understand, support, and lovingly challenge you to grow into the version of yourself you want to become.
Holistic Therapy
Balance your mind, body, and spirit with a wide variety of holistic treatment approaches developed with total-body healing in mind.
Family Therapy
We understand the importance of family. That’s why we offer family or couples sessions when you are ready for them. These sessions create a supportive environment where you can heal together with the people you are closest with. Family and/or couples therapy sessions focus on ways to improve communication, repair ruptures that have happened, and create goals and plans to move forward.
Levels of Care
At Wings, we offer three levels of treatment. When you call our admissions team to learn about your mental health treatment options, we work with you to find the level that is right for you.
Residential Treatment Program
When you are just beginning the process of recovery, you often need a safe place to go. Led by a professional, caring treatment team, our San Diego residential treatment center will become a second home where you are ensured a safe environment free of distractions that could otherwise interfere with your recovery. Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
When you are ready to step down from residential treatment and move back to your home, or if you decide to live in supportive housing, our PHP treatment program offers a safe, nurturing place for you to receive treatment during the day. PHP runs from 9 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. It involves both individual and group therapy, including trauma-focused treatment and medication management.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
When you are ready to leave residential or PHP care but want to continue developing your coping skills and receiving support from your peers, our San Diego IOP program is a great option. IOP runs 3 hours a day and includes two individual therapy sessions per week.
