Lasting Recovery through Holistic Therapy Programs

Balance. We all know it’s vital to maintaining optimal mental health. Most traditional therapies work primarily with the mind, but at Wings Recovery, we believe it’s important to include mind, body, and spirit to maintain emotional balance. That’s why we include body-based holistic treatments like acupuncture, cupping, equine therapy, and nutrition in our program, as well as opportunities to calm your nervous system through meditation and mindfulness training.

To start your holistic treatment journey, contact us at 1.888.790.9377

Our Commitment to Holistic Treatment

All of the holistic therapies we offer at Wings (aside from peer support groups) are facilitated by licensed therapists or trained experts in their fields. Our extended treatment team includes a registered dietician, licensed acupuncturist, and registered yoga teacher.

Types of Holistic Therapy

Get ready to expand your horizons! Our holistic therapies may be different from other treatments you have experienced before, but we are confident that you will not only enjoy this aspect of your treatment experience but will also truly come to appreciate the value of a holistically balanced approach to treatment.

Nutrition Therapy

Whether you’re in recovery from an eating disorder or just want to support your mental and physical health, you will have the opportunity learn from our registered dietician either individually or in our Nutrition Group.

Equine Therapy

Equine Therapy involves working with a licensed mental health professional and equine specialist, and partnering with the horse. Horses are social beings. They rely on the herd for safety and social interactions. Their ability to be congruent by nature allows us to be honest with ourselves allowing for safe, healthy connections, which we can transfer to other relationships outside of equine therapy. “The horse is the same for every person who chooses to be with them. The horse will serve as a mirror to your energy system. It’s the person dealing with the horse who tells the whole story,”

Meditation and Mindfulness

Mindfulness meditation is a 2,000+ year-old technique for calming the mind and seeing this present moment just as it is. Mindfulness practice is proven to reduce stress as well as symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Acupuncture Therapy

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese healing art that works with the body’s qi energy. According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, acupuncture has been proven effective (alone or in combination with other treatments) for conditions including anxiety, depression, addictive disorders, chronic pain, and fibromyalgia.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine where a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. The idea is to draw blood to or away from parts of your body. People get it for many reasons, such as pain and inflammation relief, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.
