Dr. Dania Gomez is the Clinical Director of Wings Recovery Program in San Diego, CA. In that capacity, she oversees all clinical and designated administrative activities in addition to transmitting clinical and procedural expertise to other clinical staff through demonstrating, teaching and consultation.
Dr. Gomez received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from San Diego State University, and her Master’s degree from National University in San Diego, CA. Dania continued to pursue her dream by applying to Argosy University’s Doctor of Education in Counseling Psychology Program to which she was accepted and graduated in October, 2017. Dr. Gomez is currently studying for licensure in the state of California and strives to provide and create a supportive and psycho- educational environment not only for the team of professionals she works with, but for the individuals and the system Wings program serves as a whole.
Dr. Gomez has a sixteen-year experience of working in the mental health population including providing community-based crisis intervention to individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs. She has worked in Outpatient Psychiatric Hospitals in the community for ten years, which gave Dr. Gomez the opportunity to treat patients suffering from mental illnesses, psychological disorders, as well as substance and mood/anxiety disorders. Her goal is to continue to assist patients by providing expert-level clinical consultation related to family interactions, community resources, and sociocultural determinants in addition to delivering top-notch group, individual, and family therapy sessions in both English and Spanish to mitigate adverse effects of emotional, behavioral, and substance abuse issues.
